The Opportunity :

The Material Quality Engineer is responsible for Quality Assurance inspections in support of the receiving inspection of machined parts, cable harnesses, electronic assemblies, ad optics. The Material Quality Engineer is responsible for the material review board (MRB) process. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Florham Park, NJ.

Responsibilities :

Performs Quality Assurance inspections for fabricated parts / assemblies, cable assemblies, and PCBA Assemblies.

Performs continuity, and isolation testing in accordance with engineering documentation and specifications.

Reviewing and processing non-conforming reports

Runs material review board (MRB) meetings with program stakeholders, and tracks non-conforming items status and actions to completion

Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical and / or electrical inspection utilizing standard documentation, procedures, and precision measuring devices to support final inspection.

Accept / reject for conformance to standards and specifications.

Verify compliance to applicable standards and other approved documentation.

Represents Quality in daily Gemba meetings

Creates First Article Inspection Reports

Maintain files and records as required.

Communicate closely with the Quality Manager and Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure the accurate documentation of non-conforming products, workmanship deficiencies, continual improvements, and corrective actions.

Adhere to all Quality Management Systems standards and procedures.

Verify and compare all assembly documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Treat all team members with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained.

Qualifications : Required :

Ability to read, interpret and apply various technical data points such as prints, specifications, and utilize specialized inspection plans and hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gages, dial indicators, height gages, etc.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Solution oriented while committed to consistency and process.

Ability to work under minimal direction while keeping within the limitations of designated authorities, exercising regular use of good judgment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able present information, concepts and proposals with a wide range of audiences at all levels, technical or non-technical individuals both internal and external to the company.

Have a strong knowledge base in GD&T.

Minimum five (5) years' experience in quality inspection of machined parts, cable assemblies, and PCBA board assemblies.

Must have experience performing inspections with calipers, height gages, thread gages, micrometers, dial indicators, and other.

Experience operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

High school diploma or GED equivalent and 9 years of related experience.

Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, cable lists, and PCBA assembly drawings.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 : 2015 and AS9102 REV C standards.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.

Repetitive movement, long periods of standing and walking on concrete surfaces.

Ability to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.

This position could be first or second shift, depending on the needs of the business.

IPC-610, IPC-620 and J-STD-001certifications

Prior experience in satellite, flight, and ground support assembly and fabrication.

Ability to create CMM routines on complex fabricated parts and assemblies

The proposed salary range for this position is :

$68,400-$143,700
