Overview
Martin-Harris Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on public-sector projects across Southern Nevada. This role is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. From educational facilities to municipal and civic buildings, you'll play a key role in building spaces that serve our communities while upholding Martin-Harris's commitment to integrity, collaboration, and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manages and directs all job site activities from start to finish related to the project execution.
- Oversees self-perform labor crews and subcontractor work performed to meet the completion of the project.
- Communicates daily with job foreman and craftsman to ensure expected production.
- Responsible for all project goals to be accomplished according to specifications, on time and within budget.
- Responsible for weekly subcontractor meetings at the jobsite. Reviews and manages all trades for schedule performance, safety compliance, and quality control.
- Reviews R.F.I. status, delays, additional work requirements, etc.
- Communicates directly with subcontractors to ensure prompt and accurate drawings.
- Communicates with Project Manager and team on all project related issues, changes, or delays.
- Must have knowledge of commonly used field concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Assists the Project Manager and team by conducting closeout meetings 30 days prior to completion date.
- Communicates with Owners and Public entities and represents Martin Harris Construction's best interest.
- Develops plans and implements strategies to complete projects on or ahead of schedule and at or under budget.
- Maintains and implements the pre-established guidelines necessary to perform the required duties of the position.
- Tracks self-performed work production and stays within budget.
Supervision
Supervises up to 300 employees and subcontractors combined on specific requirements to fulfill project goals.Qualifications
Minimum of five years of experience in this position with a Commercial General Contractor required.Prior experience in this position on Educational projects with Clark County School District, UNLV, or similar Public Agencies, Other School Districts.Desired project experience includes, but is not limited to : Tilt-Up, Office, Education, Aviation, Medical, Federal / Municipal, Sports / Recreation, Parking Structures, or Tenant Improvement / RenovationsExperience in CMAR delivery method preferred.Experience in performing constructability reviews, site logistics planning, subcontractor coordination, scope of work review during preconstruction phase, is preferred.Experience in coordinating and scheduling of subcontractors required.Experience in building and maintaining project schedules and updates. Experience with Procore, e-Builder, and P6 (or similar) desired.Strong knowledge of self-perform concrete work desired.Knowledge of MEPF systems and UG utilities.Knowledge of telecommunications, security, intrusion, AV, clock / intercom, fire alarm, and EMS systems.Company Description
