Job description

Vp Of Operations

We are looking for an experienced VP of Operations to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland, within the financial services industry. This role requires a highly skilled leader to oversee and manage critical operational functions, ensuring excellence in service delivery and regulatory compliance. As this is a long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency and innovation in banking operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of electronic and cash management-based banking products and services.
  • Collaborate with account and business development teams to support the sales and onboarding of electronic banking solutions, while providing training to internal teams.
  • Supervise departmental operations, manage staff, and oversee vendor relationships to ensure seamless workflow and compliance.
  • Analyze dormant accounts to ensure adherence to escheatment laws and internal procedures.
  • Coordinate the processing of returned mail and manage skip tracing functions, ensuring accurate documentation and secure record storage.
  • Research and respond to subpoenas, legal inquiries, and customer concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all banking activities and prepare documentation for federal and state examinations as well as external audits.
  • Identify and implement workflow and system enhancements to boost operational efficiency and address gaps in Electronic, Deposit, and Loan Operations.
  • Participate in product development initiatives, ensuring alignment with operational capabilities and integration with other departments.
  • Serve as a key member of organizational committees, providing expertise on operational initiatives and technology integration.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the banking industry.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state banking regulations, including compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in managing scorecard metrics and driving operational improvements.
  • Proven ability to oversee and optimize complex banking processes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage teams and collaborate across departments.
  • Proficiency in system analysis and workflow design to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Experience coordinating and preparing for regulatory examinations and audits.
  • Technical knowledge of banking systems and their impact on operational functions.
