Position Summary
The Pump Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pump shop, ensuring efficient workflow, quality workmanship, and adherence to safety standards.
This role involves supervising a team of technicians, coordinating schedules, managing inventory, and liaising with clients to understand their requirements.
The Pump Shop Foreman plays a pivotal role in troubleshooting technical issues, providing guidance to technicians, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
Strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Oversee workload to anticipate, detect, and address factors that impede operations.
- Provide technical assistance to shop staff as needed.
- Perform hands on repairs to equipment as necessary.
- Take customer calls for pump repair, pick-up and delivery, being careful to obtain complete and accurate information required to complete pick-up and delivery runs.
- Prepare Run Sheets for Drivers, check for accuracy before drivers leave the Pump Shop, and follow up to ensure customer runs are completed on time.
- Enforce safety regulations and protocols.
- Meet with management, both formally and informally, to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.
- Implement management’s strategies, as directed, to optimize departmental workflow and operational efficiency as needed.
- Monitor shop supply inventory levels, adjusting and replenishing supplies as needed and within budget.
- Perform administrative tasks such as : Returning incomplete work orders to the responsible party for correction. Monitor ageing shop WIP for resolution and report to management all WIP older than 60 days.
- Ensures safety, cost reduction, and productivity remain priorities in completing work assignments and meeting KPI’s
- Familiarity with ERP software
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of and ability to perform requirements of other jobs in the Pump Shop, including Pump Tech , Anchor Tech , Driver, Separator Hand, and Inventory Specialist, as needed

Requirements
- Education and Training : High School education or equivalent or as deemed sufficient by management
- Technical Requirements : Computer literate; leadership ability; good verbal communication skills; forklift certification
- Experience : At least 2-3 years’ experience, or as deemed sufficient by management
