Job Summary

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a crucial role in patient care by operating advanced nuclear imaging equipment and preparing radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic studies. Your expertise will assist physicians in delivering effective treatment plans based on precise imaging results. You will report to the Clinical Nuclear Medical Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Operate nuclear detection and imaging equipment while preparing radiopharmaceuticals for various nuclear radiologic studies in compliance with departmental protocols and NRC regulations.
• Prepare and position patients for exams, administering appropriate isotopes and closely monitoring their status during scans.
• Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals following established protocols to ensure patient and environmental safety.
• Adhere strictly to HIPAA, OSHA, and NRC guidelines for radiation protection and patient safety.
• Review physician's orders and patient requisitions to confirm the accuracy of procedures and ensure proper patient preparation.
• Assess the validity of requested exams based on established guidelines, gather patient medical history, and check images for quality and abnormalities.
• Conduct quality control tests on imaging and hot lab equipment, ensuring the integrity and safety of the nuclear medicine system.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment according to performance standards, reporting any malfunctions as necessary.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration (Required) :

Education : Associate's Degree in an Allied Health program related to Nuclear Medicine or completion of a one-year Nuclear Medicine Technology course.
