JOB SUMMARY
AtHouston Methodist the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position isresponsible for assessing patients and developing the therapy planof care.
This position provides education to patients patientsfamily members and / or caregivers and collaborates with other healthcare professionals as needed for problem resolution and / orachievement of identified patient specific goals.
As a member ofthe interprofessional care team providing direct patient care theSLP position has responsibility to deliver exceptional patient carewith adherence to safety standards and guidelines to ensure optimalpatient safety customer service and optimum patient outcomes.

Performs complete andcomprehensive evaluation of patients to identify patients level offunction and to determine the treatment plan.
Develops the plan ofcare based on evaluation findings and implements the speech therapytreatment plan. Practices in a manner that is congruent withcultural diversity and inclusion principles.(EF)

o Texas Speech LanguagePathologist License or eligible for temporary Texas Speech LanguagePathologist License must obtain licensure within 90 days ofemployment.
Compact license acceptable according to current Boardrequirements
o Certificate of Clinical Competencein SpeechLanguage Pathology (CCCSLP) by the AmericanSpeechLanguageHearing Association (ASHA)
oAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support(BLS)
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIESREQUIRED
o Demonstrates the skillsand competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned jobdetermined through ongoing skills competency assessments andperformance evaluations
