Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our back-office team. The role involves providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical staff in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Contact patients via phone or mail to schedule medical evaluations and follow up on abnormal test results or missed appointments.
• Ensure the orderliness of the patients' and staff environment, contributing to collaborative patient responsibility.
• Report patient and family complaints or questions to the health center or office manager.
• Work with direct supervisors to improve patient care quality and nursing time management.
• Collaborate with staff members to deliver quality patient care.
• Clarify orders or procedures with providers to ensure quality patient care.
• Measure and record patients’ vital signs including blood pressure, weight, length, temperature, and head circumference, notifying the nurse or provider of any unusual findings.
• Answer phone calls and document messages clearly in the patient’s chart.
• Clean and restock examination rooms regularly.
• Conduct eyesight and hearing tests using the Snellen Eye Test and Hearing Test.
• Obtain laboratory specimens and monitor stock supplies, notifying the appropriate person when supplies are low.

Work Environment

The position is based at a single site with multiple specialties, operating Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The environment is slow-paced, with each provider seeing approximately 12-15 patients. This schedule allows for work-life balance with no weekend shifts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sauget, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 / hr.
