The Coordinator of Involvement fosters student belonging, leadership development, and civic engagement by serving as the primary advisor for Fraternity and Sorority Life (CPC, IFC, NPHC, and MGC). This position oversees recruitment, intake, risk management education, and leadership transition efforts while promoting proactive responsive practices. A key responsibility of this role is ensuring the university remains in full compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines—including the anti-hazing act, alcohol prevention and awareness initiatives, and registered student organization policies. By embedding prevention, education, and accountability into fraternity / sorority advising, the Coordinator safeguards both student well-being and the university's reputation.
This position also builds meaningful connections with adult learners and nontraditional students, ensuring their experiences are integrated into campus life and that engagement opportunities reflect the Maverick community. Additionally, the Coordinator strengthens philanthropic and service engagement through Greek Life initiatives and broader campus programming, showcasing how student leadership positively impacts the community. The role further leads signature student engagement events—such as Greek Week, compliance trainings, and recognition activities—while collaborating across campus to support monthly celebrations, foster alumni involvement, and provide student-facing support for the university.
