Job Title : Locum Tenens Physician – Cardiology / Urology

Location : Salem, Virginia (Zip : 24153) – Gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains

Facility : 500-bed hospital, main transfer facility for Southwest Virginia

Employment Type : Locum tenens (travel contract)

Start Date : October 1, 2025

End Date : December 24, 2025

Contract Duration : 12 weeks

Shifts : 24-hour hospital / ED shifts with call-back (typically 2–5 hours per 24-hour period)

Patient Volume : Average 28 patients per day

EMR Systems : eCW and MediTech

Estimated Weekly Salary : $6,460 - $7,660

Physician Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology or Urology

Active Virginia State Medical License

DEA / CSR certification

BCLS and PALS certifications required

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or emergency department setting

Ability to respond in person within 20 minutes for call-back requirements

Must provide case logs (minimum 200 cases in the last two years)

Physician Responsibilities

Deliver 24-hour hospital and emergency department coverage for adult patients

Manage general urology cases, including kidney stones and routine urologic procedures

Utilize Da Vinci XI robotic systems for surgical procedures

Serve as a key provider for the main transfer facility in Southwest Virginia

Support the Level II trauma program

Document patient care using eCW and MediTech EMR systems

Collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital staff to ensure high-quality patient care
