Job Description :

As a Specialist, Electrical Engineer within our Surveillance product line, you are focused on developing TCAS and transponder radios, contributing to the electrical engineering discipline through initial concept generation, design, qualification, and lifecycle management. You will interact with business development and all engineering functions, with a specific focus on relating the requirements for top-level product development to the particular technical areas of electrical engineering. You will be involved in multidisciplinary project teams that involve mechanical, electrical, digital / analog, RF, firmware, and software engineering in the planning, design, prototyping, and testing of avionics transponders, RF, and sensor-based systems. The design focus will include surveillance avionics for Air Transport, as well as General Aviation and emerging platforms, such as Urban Air Mobility (UAM) eVTOL aircraft.

Essential Functions :

• Conceptualize, design, integrate, and qualify digital, analog, and power circuitry, with supplemental RF principles, in the avionics realm.
• Design circuits with microprocessors, memory, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, high-speed busses including PCIE, and various avionics interfaces.
• Proficiency in electrical schematic generation and review. Support for and review of CAD layout (preferred skills with Altium).
• Generate design documents including HRDs, HDDs, and HCIAs. Generate certification documents such as PHACs.
• Work effectively designing individual circuits, aircraft system architectures, and everything in between.
• Familiarity with electrical analysis tools for power distribution, stress analysis, and other relevant simulations.
• Participate in the proposal process for programs with EE requirements by estimating tasks, identifying risks, and planning development.
• Effectively communicate across multiple technical teams.
• Communicate directly with customers, in person or virtually, to understand their problems and formulate actionable solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Travel up to 10%.
