About The Position

Job Title : RN - MedSurg / Tele

Shift : 12-hour Night Shift

Hours per Shift : 36

Experience : Minimum 2 years of Med / Tele RN experience preferred, first-time travelers will be considered

License : Valid RN license

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• General Med / Tele skillset
• Stroke experience
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Tracheostomy care
• Peripheral IV starts
• Chest tube management
• NGT placement
• Drain and tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, foley insertion / management)
• PCA pump management

Description :

This position involves providing nursing care in a fast-paced medical / surgical unit with a focus on telemetry.

The unit specializes in head / neck and GI surgeries including tracheostomies, laryngectomies, hernia repairs, and more.

Patient ratios are typically 1 RN to 4-6 patients.

The role requires medication management, including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and intravenous fluids.

Support staff includes CNAs and a charge nurse on duty 24 / 7.

Nurses will manage telemetry monitoring without dedicated tech support.

Floating to other facilities within the designated region will be required as needed, within the scope of practice.

Weekends will rotate every other week, and travelers will work 75% of holidays.

Up to 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays, with a requirement to extend the contract if hours are not met.

Scrub color is navy.
