Infection Control Preventionist

At Garden Grove Post Acute, we provide high-quality care while maintaining the highest infection control standards. We're seeking an Infection Control Preventionist nurse to lead our infection prevention efforts and ensure a safe environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

What You'll Do :

As the Infection Control Preventionist, you will be responsible for :

Implementing and monitoring infection control policies and procedures in compliance with state, federal, local, and CDC guidelines.

Conducting regular infection surveillance, risk assessments, and audits to prevent and control the spread of infections.

Educating and training staff on infection prevention protocols, including hand hygiene, PPE use, environmental disinfection, and outbreak management.

Investigating infection outbreaks, identifying trends, and implementing corrective measures.

Reporting communicable diseases as required and ensuring compliance with infection control regulations from CMS, CDPH, and local health authorities.

Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to promote best practices in infection prevention.

Keep current with emerging infectious diseases, guidelines, and evidence-based prevention strategies.

What We're Looking For :

An active LVN license is in good standing in the state of California.

Proof of completion of an approved Infection Control Certification Program (required).

Previous experience as an Infection Control Preventionist is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of infection prevention standards, surveillance methods, and regulatory requirements.

Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to analyze infection trends.

Strong communication skills.
