We are currently seeking a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Pearland, TX. This position involves working with an elementary caseload and requires fluency in both English and another language.
Although we are open to accepting SLPAs, supervision must be provided in accordance with state regulations.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct speech and language screenings and assessments for students
- Implement therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Provide direct one-on-one or group therapy sessions to students with speech and language disorders
- Collaborate with the school staff, parents, and SLP to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records
- Assist with creating and implementing strategies to support language development in the classroom
- Participate in meetings and team discussions regarding student progress and needs
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field
- SLPA certification or willingness to obtain SLPA certification
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders in children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with colleagues
- Familiarity with educational settings and the special education process
