Responsible for the daily operations of all billing functions, including coordination with all practice departments affecting the billing process. The Director interprets policies and procedures, recommends changes as appropriate, and provides relevant feedback to Practice Administration, Division, and Physician Leadership.

What you will do in this role :

• Oversee practice operations of billing functions, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, compliance, and standards fulfillment.
• Provide relevant guidance for billing staff to resolve internal and external issues.
• Inform administration of any significant issues in the billing area.
• Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and company compliance policies.
• Develop and monitor charge capture, verification, and coding processes.
• Establish and monitor controls to ensure appropriate submission and acceptance of electronic and manual claims.
• Monitor system reports and act on trends and / or root causes.
• Monitor billing department performance according to quality and productivity standards.
• Complete monthly trending analysis of practice billing department performance.
• Prepare statistical information and reports for the management and operations team.
• Coordinate and promote implementation and monitoring of standard master files, processes, reporting, and education programs.
• Follow overall market trends and communicate significant shifts to practice leadership and others as appropriate.
• Understand and communicate nuances of billing various payers.
• Oversee management of billing personnel, performing hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and personnel action where appropriate.
• Develop specific objectives and performance standards for each area of responsibility.
• Practice and adhere to code of conduct philosophy and mission and value statement.
