Senior Project Engineer / Manager, Wastewater

Overview

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a senior wastewater engineer with at least 12 years of experience to join our Bay Area offices. The candidate will be involved with a wide range of wastewater infrastructure projects, focusing on treatment process design and construction. In addition to technical requirements, the position requires experience with project management or the desire to grow into a project management role. The role includes client development and management, supported by our local offices. The position can be based in any of the Northern California offices from San Francisco, Concord, or Sacramento, and may serve across the Northern California region depending on project needs and expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical treatment strategies, select treatment processes, develop process design criteria, and deliver projects.
• Support and develop proposal development.
• Identify, hire, supervise, and mentor junior wastewater staff.
• Coordinate directly with clients.
• Coordinate with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and with discipline design professionals for project delivery.
• Manage projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Follow Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects for clients.
• Provide technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on small to medium projects.
• Perform planning, studies, design, and support of projects through design, construction, and operation phases.
• Evaluate progress of the project staff and results, and recommend changes to achieve project objectives.
