ROLE :
Performs a variety of advanced duties in the area of daily loan operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and member-focused lending processes. Provides guidance and mentorship to staff, supports lending growth initiatives, and contributes to the Credit Union’s mission of improving members’ financial well-being.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Conducts comprehensive loan interviews with members to assess financial needs, explain available loan options, and provide personalized financial counseling to support sound borrowing decisions.
Reviews, evaluates, and processes consumer loans, ensuring adherence to internal policies, credit union lending guidelines, and applicable regulations. Determines loan approvals or denials with sound judgment and documentation.
Prepares and processes collateral documentation, including title work and lien perfection, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
Analyzes and processes credit card applications, including requests for new accounts, limit increases, or denials, in accordance with underwriting standards.
Responds promptly and professionally to member inquiries and communications related to loan products, status updates, and servicing issues, including escalations from the call center or other departments.
Provides timely and accurate information through incoming calls, emails, texts, and other channels, delivering a high standard of member service and maintaining confidentiality of member information.
Prepares, processes, and coordinates real estate loan documentation for underwriting, approval, and closing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
Actively promotes, cross-sells, and educates members on Credit Union products and services—including deposit accounts, consumer loans, electronic and convenience services, payment protection, GAP, and mechanical breakdown coverage—to support financial wellness and deepen member relationships.
Collaborate with loan operations, underwriting, and compliance teams to ensure efficient workflows, identify process improvements, and to maintain service excellence.
Provides mentorship, training, and technical support to loan operations staff as needed. Serves as a backup resource for daily operations and other related duties as assigned.

8. Cross-train in other departments as needed and attend all training relative to position.
QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
Experience : 3-5 years lending experience with home equity lending experience preferred
Education : A high school education or GED
Interpersonal Skills : Must have a pleasant personality with the ability to communicate effectively,
ability to get along with co-workers and members, dependable and punctual and
must be able to retain confidential information and make mature and professional
decisions based on knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures.
Other Skills : Must be efficient and accurate with a calculator and a computer.
Must be able to compose meaningful written correspondence.
Must possess satisfactory reading, writing, arithmetic, clerical, and communication skills.
