Under the general direction of the Director of Health Services, you will provide vital signs, activities of daily living, and give medications to students under the medication delegation program. You will also provide pertinent medical information to registered nurses.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations
- Obtaining, measuring and recording vital signs, according to the specific health needs of student
- Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse, advanced practice provider and or physician
- Medication administration
- Provide g-tube feeds
- Provide basic care including ADL's, lifts / transfers, body-charts, etc
- Health Services clinic support (assist with trainings, vital signs, equipment support)
- Liaison between cottages and program nurses
- Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions
- Adheres to health services policies and procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory agencies
- Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, correspondence and effectively present informationAbility to respond to questions from groups, family or advocatesMaintain current ProCPRAble to Safety Care as necessary, including non violent crisis interventionEducation and / or Experience
High School Diploma or college degreeNursing Assistant or equivalent certificationCurrently in the last year of an accredited Nursing SchoolCurrent BLS CPRProficiency in Google suiteProficient in electronic medical records and electronic medication administrationExperience working with children with developmental disabilities; and / or an equivalent combination of education and experience, a plusExperience in a long term care facility or a facility delivering care to many patients at onceThe following shared salary range is what Perkins reasonably expects, in good faith, to pay for the position. The applicable range could differ based on experience and qualification.
$19.04-$26.90
