Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation) has an exciting career opportunity! We are looking for a creative, diligent, hands‑on Software Engineering Manager in Test who will be responsible for leading quality engineering (QE) teams. These teams will research and build the next generation of PlayStation's testing technology, and, as their leader, you will set this future technology's direction.

Join us, and coordinate with our internal software development teams who are building the core tech behind the console games of tomorrow. This involves analyzing the quality of at least two of the following : (1) PlayStation CPU compilers and tools that are part of the open‑source LLVM compiler infrastructure. (2) Real‑world audio and video codecs used throughout the PlayStation system software. (3) PlayStation’s 3D Audio technology and greater audio ecosystem used in the PlayStation software development kit (SDK) and system software. While these three areas are primary focus areas, there may be opportunities in testing 3D graphics, artificial intelligence, and the fully integrated PlayStation game development environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse team of our Software Engineers in Test. Own everything from hiring to mentoring, work planning, career growth and performance management.
• Support these QE teams in their efforts to maintain and improve tools and infrastructure to build and test PlayStation sample applications.
• Research and craft new tools for overcoming inefficient processes by automating work.
• Coordinate construction of testing plans, samples, and documentation together with our global software production, documentation, and remote offshore engineering teams.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job‑related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below. $195,500 — $293,300 USD
