Position Summary :
Handles the processing of sorting and receiving incoming payments with attention to accuracy along with managing the status of accounts / balances and identifying inconsistencies.
THIS IS AN OFFICE BASED POSITION.
Position Description :
- Ensure charges are prepared & submitted, timely follow-up & resolution on unpaid claims, denials & errors
 - Ability to create accurate & timely corrections, adjustments or write offs
 - Research & contact payers to determine the status of submitted claims & investigate claim denials & appeals
 - Ability to acquire & interpret payer eligibility & EOB data
 - Ensure client's information is accurate, up to date & sequenced properly in internal & external system(s)
 - Collaborate with clients, insurance providers & internal & external stakeholders to obtain the necessary documentation
 - Assist other billers as needed
 - Full understanding of Board eligibility, funding, modifiers and allowable services
 - Apply knowledge of insurance regulations, billing codes, rates, credentialing, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers & industry practices to ensure compliance & optimize reimbursement
 - Collect & review referrals & authorizations
 - Ensure posted payments (including zero payments) are accurate & monitor missed payments
 - Maintain educational sessions, compliance with company policies & meetings as required by internal & external parties
 - Maximize electronic health record (EHR) system use & obtain full understanding of all functions & use
 - Perform intermediate to difficult projects or assignments
 - Other duties as assigned
