Bookoff McAndrews (BoMc) is seeking an energetic and highly organized Junior Operations & Events Assistant to support our firm’s internal operations and help deliver high-quality, professional events that reflect our firm’s culture and values.
This position will provide support for the HR & Operations team. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a versatile, hands-on environment. The Junior Operations & Events Assistant will provide year-round support for a wide range of operational functions and take the lead in planning and executing in-person firmwide events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administrative operations, event planning, IT support, and have familiarity with cross-functional coordination. This position will regularly collaborate with HR, recruiting, IT, and marketing. This is a hybrid position which requires a minimum of Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office and a 3rd on an as-needed basis, likely once per month.

Key Responsibilities :
Operations & Administration (Approximately 80% of Role)
Serve as a key on-site presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a 3rd day on an as-needed basis, likely once per month, in our Washington, D.C. officeProvide day-to-day administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the office to include :Tracking inventory for and ordering office and pantry supplies
Consistently storing office and pantry supplies for easy access by other employeesLoading, running, and unloading the dishwasher at least twice per weekMailing of documents or packages as needed; presence in the office to sign for packagesSetting up Zoom board and conference room as neededPreparing for remote personnel and office guests to include properly stocking each workspace with necessary supplies and providing general in-person support and guidance to personnel and guests visiting the officeBeing available to troubleshoot in office IT issues as neededLiaise with facility management vendors, such as cleaning, security, etc.Coordinate with the marketing team to assist with client meetings and internal initiativesLiaise with IT service provider to facilitate office technology needs, system access, and equipment coordinationAssist HR and recruiting with onboarding logistics and orientation scheduling of new team membersHelp with supply ordering, vendor management, and document organizationIdentify and implement operational improvements to enhance office efficiencyEvents Planning & Execution (Approximately 20% of Role)
Lead and manage three firmwide in-person events per year (e.g., retreats, spring and holiday parties) from start to finish to include venue selection, budget tracking, interfacing as the main point of contact with venues, sending out invites, following up with employees on their attendance, and ensuring smooth day-of logistics during events.Coordinate other in-person and virtual events, such as happy hours and staff lunchesCollaborate with firm leadership to ensure events reflect the firm’s culture and strategic goalsPrepare event communications and travel arrangementsQualifications :
Minimum of 1 + year of experience in operations, event planning, or administrative rolesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and videoconferencing tools (e.g., Zoom) is requiredProven resourcefulness in navigating challenges, optimizing available resources, and ensuring the seamless execution of operational and events initiativesDemonstrated ability to manage events end-to-end with a strong attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational, problem-solving and technical troubleshooting abilitiesComfortable collaborating with the HR & Operations Team, working independently and coordinating across teamsFamiliarity with law firms or professional services environments is a plusPhysical Requirements :

Compensation and Benefits :
The good faith base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000. The actual pay will be based on experience and other relevant factors permissible by law. In addition, we offer :
