We’re seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Life Sciences team in Lenexa, KS or Broomfield, CO. In this role, you’ll lead electrical design efforts for cutting-edge pharmaceutical and biotech facilities — projects that directly impact how life-saving therapies are developed and manufactured.

What You’ll Do
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll :
- Develop detailed electrical construction drawings and specifications for cleanroom facilities, manufacturing suites, and laboratory environments.
- Design electrical power distribution systems for critical manufacturing equipment and regulated environments.
- Engineer lighting and emergency egress systems for pharmaceutical and biotech facilities.
- Perform load calculations, power system analyses, and coordinate arc flash / short circuit studies.
- Create electrical utility matrices and coordinate designs with process, mechanical, and automation disciplines.
- Prepare design narratives and basis-of-design documents for client review.
- Ensure designs meet FDA, EU, and industry-specific regulatory requirements.
- Conduct facility evaluations, troubleshooting, and system assessments.
- Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, and other engineering teams.
- Develop equipment specifications, review submittals, and collaborate with vendors and contractors.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers.
- Stay current with electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Lead or support project management activities including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
- Support proposal development and participate in client presentations.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.10+ years of electrical engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences facilities.Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical analysis tools (e.g., SKM PowerTools, ETAP).Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, and NFPA 99 codes.Experience with UPS and emergency power systems.Strong technical writing and documentation skills.Exceptional attention to detail and design accuracy.Collaborative mindset and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management abilities.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Willingness to travel 10–15% for client meetings and site visits.Salary Range
$175,000 – $190,000
