The University of Missouri’s School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, is searching for a fellowship-trained oculoplastic specialist to join our team.

About MU Ophthalmology

Eye care services provided include refractive surgery, cataract surgery, macular degeneration, retinal disease, corneal transplantation, glaucoma, ocular oncology, neuro-ophthalmology, plastic surgery, children’s eye care, low vision, trauma and treatment for many types of eye disease.

Our faculty and staff feel privileged to care for Missourians and are committed to being a center of excellence for ophthalmology in the Midwest.

In addition to treating more than 30,000 patients per year, our faculty and students conduct ground-breaking research in both the basic and clinical sciences.

Research laboratories and support facilities span the entire second floor of the Mason Eye Institute with additional space located across the street at the Harry S.

Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital. Research interests within the department are diverse and cover a wide range of ophthalmologic problems.

• Join a department of 12 ophthalmologists, 6 optometrists, 16 residents, and 3 fellows (retina, cornea, & glaucoma)
• Responsibilities are :
• 90% clinical
• 10% Teaching / education / administration
• Clinic Locations
• 2 Locations in Columbia
• Mason Eye Clinic - University Hospital
• Mason Eye Clinic - East
• State-of-the-Art Equipment Available
• Optos
• Fundus Photos
• OCT / HRT
• Humphrey Visual Field
• A-Scan
• B-Scan

Outpatient Clinic :

• 3 Exam Rooms
• 1 MA / Tech

We offer opportunities to assist in the department's growth, the education of students, residents, and fellows, as well as research and scholarly activities.

Qualifications

MD / DO

Post-residency training in oculoplastic / orbital surgery

For the purposes of this application, board-certified / board-eligible physicians are considered experienced.
