Staff Accountant
Our client is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to oversee and maintain financial records for multiple funds and entities. This role involves managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate will excel in financial analysis, budgeting, and fostering collaboration with internal teams and external professionals. Candidate should have at least five years of experience and have used QuickBooks.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain comprehensive accounting records for pension funds, benefit funds, and corporate entities.
- Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate financial statement preparation.
- Prepare external financial reports, including corporate tax returns and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with directors to develop annual budgets and provide detailed financial status analyses.
- Establish and enforce accounting policies and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with external professionals such as auditors, attorneys, and financial institutions.
- Generate and oversee invoicing processes while ensuring timely collections.
- Assist in setting financial objectives, including budget forecasting and cost optimization strategies.
- Handle special projects as assigned to support organizational goals.
Requirements :
Minimum of five years of experience in financial accounting.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.Experience with QuickBooks.High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.Solid organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
