Responsibilities

Job Summary : The Building Systems Technician manages daily operations, preventative, and corrective maintenance on system-wide power plant and HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, pumps, generators, fire alarms, pneumatic tube systems, and sprinkler systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, testing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various medical and non-medical equipment and building systems such as electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. The role requires working independently, making quick decisions, and maintaining excellent communication to ensure high-quality patient care and customer satisfaction. Promotes teamwork and service excellence within the department.

Essential Functions :

• Operate Power Plant, HVAC, and other building systems, documenting work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Perform repairs, installations, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting on building systems and equipment, ensuring high-quality, uninterrupted service. Maintain and repair equipment using environmentally safe CFC practices, keeping certifications and licenses current.
• Conduct daily inspections of boilers, pipelines, vessels, meters, gauges, and other systems, adjusting operations to maintain efficiency and meet occupant demands.
• Maintain technical expertise to ensure safe, reliable systems, code compliance, and operational efficiency. Chemically treat open and closed loop systems to protect equipment cost-effectively.
• Respond promptly and courteously to customer requests, resolving issues to high satisfaction standards.
• Assist colleagues with projects and installations, providing repair and maintenance expertise.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair patient care equipment, including lighting, beds, nurse call systems, sinks, and other devices.
• Stay informed on laws, regulations, standards, and codes related to Power Plants and HVAC systems. Provide training to others for light corrective and preventative maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
