Director, Insurance Solutions - Asset Management

We are looking for a Director, Insurance Solutions to join our Investment Solutions team. You will play a strategic role in designing and delivering bespoke investment solutions that address the complex and evolving needs of insurance clients.

Responsibilities

• Leverage deep insurance industry knowledge and the ability to translate client objectives into actionable, customized portfolio strategies with a focus on regulatory capital efficiency, asset‑liability management (ALM), accounting standards, and optimized risk‑return outcomes.
• Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop investment strategies that aim to achieve client objectives, considering regulatory, capital, and liability obligations.
• Partner with Sales in managing and expanding relationships, serving as a strategic advisor. Develop and deliver high‑impact client presentations.
• Provide expertise across asset allocation strategies, including fixed income, private assets, equities, alternatives, and structured derivatives products. Advise clients on the implications of regulatory capital frameworks such as Solvency II, NAIC guidelines, and IFRS 17 for proposed investment strategies.
• Analyze market trends and regulatory changes to develop capital‑efficient investment strategies.
• Represent the firm through industry conferences and thought‑leadership publications while maintaining external relationships to stay current on market trends.
• Work in partnership with the strategic advisory team to develop the appropriate ALM and risk analytics tools & systems that will deliver the outputs for the development of appropriate investment strategies.

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non‑sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non‑Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$205,000 – $277,000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short‑term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Location(s)

We’re open to considering remote or hybrid talent. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors. Principal Asset Management offices include New York City, Chicago, Charlotte, Des Moines, Seattle, or Denver.

Travel

This role requires extensive travel.
