Library Branch Manager
This requisition expires on October 27, 2025, but may close earlier if the position is filled prior to the expiration date. Responsible for the efficient operation of a branch library within a multiple library system and for meeting the information needs of the community within that branch's service area through educational, cultural and recreational materials and services.
Essential Functions and Other Important Duties
Essential Functions :
- Supervises branch staff
- Interprets library and city policies and procedures to the staff and public
- Resolves patron, circulation and human resource problems.
- Evaluates and maintains the branch's collection based on knowledge of community interests
- Assists customers in the use of library collections and provide reference and reader's advisory services.
- Submits budget request on an annual basis and monitors all branch expenditures
- Assures that the library facility and equipment are in good working order
- Maintains adequate supplies for facility
- Conducts performance evaluations of library staff, writing formal evaluations of library staff, reviewing these with staff, clarifying performance expectations and initiating appropriate corrective action as required.
- Performs administrative record keeping and reporting, including financial and activity reports and timesheets.
- Maintains regular and punctual on-site attendance

Establishes ongoing contacts with local civic groups, community organizations and other community groupsPromotes library services through planned programsLeads system committeesPerforms other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications :
Master's degree in Library Science, Information Science or Information Studies from an ALA accredited college or university and five years increasingly responsible experience in a public library, including three years of supervisory and administrative experience.OR
