SWC Production Deputy Project Manager Of Operations (DPMO)
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Deputy Project Manager of Operations (DPMO) supporting our Strategic Weapons Control (SWC) line of business. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. Representative duties and tasks include :
- Coordinating and performing more complex cross-functional tasks in support of the operations / manufacturing organization
- Leading the development of more complex manufacturing and operations plans, schedules, and facilitating assigned projects
- Being the primary point of contact to Program Management, the program IPT
- Representing the organization as the prime production / manufacturing contact on contracts and projects and proposals
- Being the primary point of contact for cost / schedule performance and resource data management
- Coordinating all manufacturing activity to achieve 100% on-time delivery
- Maintaining capital equipment and overhead budget requirements
- Preparing complex departmental reports, purchases, requests, and training and development plans and other data as required
- Reviewing design work requiring independent evaluation, selection, application of standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Working the application of standard engineering principles and methods to the solution of process / production problems
- Representing manufacturing on preliminary and critical design reviews led by engineering
- Coordinating designs with manufacturing engineering to ensure the practicality of the design and assisting in the solution of production difficulties encountered in manufacturing
- Directing work and offering technical direction and mentoring to lower level specialists and technicians
- Reviewing and approving specifications and drawings for technical accuracy and content as applicable
- Implementing new manufacturing systems including generating supporting operational documentation under the direction of an engineer
- Assisting engineering in the evaluation of new manufacturing systems
- Interfacing with engineering departments, quality control, manufacturing, purchasing or other groups as required in order to complete project plans
- Working independently in following general outlines of assignments
- Normally working under the guidance of an operations manager, senior engineer or project leader
- May interface with external customers including DCMA

Salary note : This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled. Combined salary range : USD $97,754.00 - USD $105,772.00 / Yr.
