Position Title : Senior Design Specialist / Sr Mechanical Designer

Location : San Jose, CA

Pay Rate : $60-$67 hourly

Work Schedule : 9 / 80 work schedule

The Sr. Mechanical Designer will support various program initiatives and be responsible for creating innovative and practical mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity.

Key responsibilities include :

• Collaborating closely with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers to define and meet design specifications.
• Ensuring designs are free of layout and process defects.
• Applying Computer-Aided Design (CAD) methodologies, theories, and techniques.
• Reviewing engineering documents for compliance with military and engineering standards, specifications, procedures, and dimensional accuracy.
• Providing expert technical consultation across the division and to customer stakeholders.
• Developing highly innovative design concepts for both new product development and existing product enhancements.
• Preparing detailed design layouts, schematics, and sketches, including test plans and specifications.
• Producing drawing packages in accordance with military or ASME standards.
• Checking completed design documentation (layouts, test plans, procedures, change history) for clarity, completeness, and conformance to all applicable standards.
• Coordinating with systems engineers to ensure all designs meet contractual requirements.
• Evaluating the manufacturability and integration viability of designs, including tolerance, fit, finish, materials, and engineering specifications.
