Job Description
Responsible for the daily operations of the department. Requires analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment, attention to detail and problem resolution. Must possess strong customer service, communication, interpersonal organizational skills. Manages all resources in order to meet patient needs and provides an environment conducive to employee growth. Functions collaboratively and in partnership with senior administration to develop & implement a strategic plan & to meet short & long term goals. Provides guidance, facilitates & works cooperatively with physicians / clinicians, administration & support staff involved. Promotes patient safety in compliance with accreditation & regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in nursing and three to five years of previous work-related experience. Master's degree in nursing preferred. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required. Licensure required as a Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey. Work requires the knowledge of federal and state regulations, standards, and practices for an acute care hospital. Work requires the analytic ability necessary to resolve problem requiring a professional level of knowledge in specific discipline / field and to design complex educational, clinical, data processing systems and programs. Must possess strong customer service communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Effective January 2019, St. Joseph's Health requires all employee certifications for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be granted through the American Heart Association

The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc." The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
About the Team
St. Joseph's University Medical Center is an academic tertiary care medical center and state designated trauma center, located on the Paterson campus, regularly accepts referrals of difficult or unusual cases from other hospitals and physicians and performs both complex and routine procedures.
