Job Summary
Under limited supervision, the Associate utilizes knowledge of finance and investment concepts obtained through education and work experience to provide clients with a platform of investment opportunities. Primary functions include conducting quantitative and qualitative due diligence, investment analysis (financial modeling, risk analysis, validating investment merits, etc.), and making recommendations on domestic, international, and global investment strategies. The role encompasses authoring product approval memorandums, making presentations to financial advisors, maintaining contact with fund managers, and supporting advisors with mutual fund & ETF requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to client-first core values.
- Analyze investment merits and risks of traditional and alternative strategies.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative due diligence and investment analysis on existing and prospective fund offerings.
- Engage with fund managers, analysts and other contacts to understand strategies.
- Compose and disseminate due diligence and investment updates for recommended funds.
- Play a pivotal role in decisions on fund presentation for inclusion / removal from recommended list.
- Prepare detailed product approval memos and present potential additions to Investment Committee.
- Maintain knowledge of firm's fund offerings and research new funds for inclusion.
- Conduct due diligence on existing and prospective products outside recommended list.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong quantitative and qualitative understanding of investment management.Knowledge of macro and microeconomics and their impact on investment strategies.Familiarity with financial markets, products, advisory functions, and investment processes.Proficiency in MS Office, Morningstar Direct, FactSet IRN.Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and Excel skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.Self-motivated, composure in stressful situations, and ability to train junior associates.Educational / Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Finance, Business, or Economics with at least 3 years of experience in financial services or accounting.Relevant internship experience in accounting, finance, or investment-related roles.Equivalent combination of education, experience and / or training approved by HR.Licenses & Certifications
SIE required unless exemption or grandfathering applies.Series 7 or willingness to obtain within 6 months.CFA within 3 years of hire or demonstrated progress toward completion.Travel
