Job description

Sales Manager Position

The Account Manager is responsible for developing and increasing the profitability of the business. The main focus will be on developing potential clients based on specialization, including annual sales, margin, and volume growth targets. They must be able to sell at all levels and build relationships that ensure the growth of Avient.

Key objectives and responsibilities include :

  • Profitable revenue growth.
  • Establishing and closing new business goals consistent with long-term growth objectives.
  • Developing a contact matrix and establishing strong relationships with key decision-makers and project facilitators.
  • Cold prospecting and calls.
  • Developing, executing, and managing sales plans, sales budgets, and expenses.
  • Establishing account development plans and resource networks, through the organization of the client and Avient.
  • Developing account relationships, identifying opportunities, and capturing service opportunities in strategic accounts within the assigned geographic area or industry.
  • Understanding applications, requirements, trends, and key needs, as well as Avient's potential and sharing industry objectives.
  • Coordination with the regional sales team, as well as collaboration with the technical area, as needed to accelerate and drive profitable growth through sales solutions to specific accounts.
  • Establishing a negotiation between the client's business strategy and Avient's capabilities.
  • Monitoring the competition to better understand problems and threats, developing plans to remove barriers.
  • Implementing Avient's pricing and market strategies, as well as business practices.
  • Negotiating contracts with clients and ensuring an acceptable return on Avient's invested resources.
  • Participating in the development of strategies, supporting business positioning, developing the offer, collaborating to define markets and commercial strategy.
  • Developing strategic account plans, including metrics to define annual sales in each account.
  • Assisting customers in problem resolution and offering solutions.

Required education (degrees, certifications, permits, licenses) :

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Business Engineering.
  • Experience (years and type) : 3 to 5 years.

  • Sales or customer service in the chemical and / or plastic manufacturing industry.
  • Cold calling.
  • Prospecting and developing new accounts.
  • Client-focused sales.
  • Sales budgets.
  • Languages (level of proficiency) :

  • Advanced English desirable.
  • Technical competencies (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) :

  • Sales techniques and strategies.
  • Customer service.
