This is a paid freelance and remote position.

ScreenRant is the #1 entertainment website and publishes up-to-the-minute news on blockbuster movies, TV shows, video games, comic books, music and other forms of entertainment. Responsibilities

• Core responsibility is in sourcing news in a timely fashion
• Adding news titles and sources to asana for writers to claim
• Understanding of what makes a good news title / angle
• Making judgements on what is flash news vs news vs something to spike to features
• Ensuring news quotas are hit - understanding the times when it is appropriate to overrun, and when news can be passed on / passed to features
• Assigning news articles / communicating with writers on news assignments
• Editing news articles and prioritizing most timely edits
• Writing news articles when needed (especially when fastest turnaround is required on breaking news)
• Attending weekly team meetings
