Security officer positions may require you to perform the following regularly during a shift :
- Lift and / or carry up to 50 lbs
- Reach over your head with 10-25 lb loads
- Climb stairs with loads up to 50 lbs
- Walk and stand for long periods of time, climb stairs & ladders
- Type or work at a keyboard or desk
Job Description
Position : Experienced Unarmed Security Officer
Location : Charlotte, NC
Employment Type : Full-time and Part-time
Pay : $16 / hr
Shift : Varies
Description : Unarmed security position providing fixed and roving patrol security for a client site. Shifts vary.
Responsibilities include :
Understand and fulfill obligations and responsibilities of postInvestigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activityComplete State of Georgia 24-hour Basic Security Officer course within six months of hiringComplete applicable Safety & Environmental Rules trainingMaintain daily activity reports on paper, computer, smart phone or tabletWatch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazardsSound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized personsPermit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exitsAssist residents and visitors in a courteous and professional mannerComplete post order trainingExpectations include one or more of the following essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation :
Be able to work overtime and on various shifts as needed; including weekends and holidays. High school diploma or equivalentValid Driver's LicenseCandidates are required to :
Pass any state-required training or other qualificationsComplete site-specific training before serving as a qualified security officerHave the ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and / or console monitorsAbility to interact cordially and communicate with the publicBe at least 18 years oldBe able to work any shift, 24 hours per day, 7 days per weekAdhere to EKG and client safety policiesHave a mobile phoneHave an email addressBe able to operate a computer and tablet with basic competency to include time entry softwareBe able to effectively read, write and speak EnglishOther Requirements
