As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. Join our Engineering team as a 2026 summer Engineering / Design Intern, where you'll gain hands-on experience supporting product development, testing, and design initiatives that directly contribute to our innovative manufacturing solutions. This internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Design Engineering, or related fields who want exposure to real-world engineering challenges and the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals.

• Assist in product development projects, including design analysis (structural and / or fluid mechanics) and prototype support.
• Contribute to product improvement initiatives, such as technical feasibility studies, economic analysis, and design layouts.
• Create and modify engineering drawings and models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
• Support component and product testing, documenting results and recommending design adjustments when needed.
• Help assemble engineering standards in preparation for automation and design process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers on updating or modifying design programs, templates, and technical documentation to reflect product revisions and industry code updates.

Our intern and co-op positions are paid, and we offer housing stipends for students who are not local to the Kansas City area.
