This role involves curating content, drafting and editing copy for covers and interior pages, and coordinating cross-functional workflows to ensure each book meets DC’s publishing standards. The Associate Editor works closely with periodical editors and internal teams to deliver high-quality publications that reflect the creative vision and editorial excellence of DC Comics.

Review dummy books and design materials for accuracy, identifying and resolving issues related to artwork viability, creative direction, and scheduling. Consolidate and coordinate feedback from internal departments and talent for all book components, including print and bind specifications.

Project manage CE titles across departments including Design, Production, Marketing, Legal, and Editorial to ensure books meet project milestones, in-store release dates, and quality standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve concerns related to book creation, including art viability, creative priorities, and scheduling; provide final recommendations on all book materials, including print and bind components, ensuring compliance with DC’s publishing standards.

Manage administrative tasks such as filing CE titles with the Library of Congress and approving freelancer vouchers in coordination with CE Editorial and Finance.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
