Requirements for consideration :
Minimum Education :
- Associate Degree in science from a college / university recognized by regional or national accreditation agency. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology preferred.
- Other acceptable forms of education / experience will follow the guidelines of ASCP / AMT Board certification.
Years of Experience :
Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited MLS program, NAACLS or ABHES accredited MLT program, or a foreign medical laboratory science clinical training program within the 12 months can be used in lieu of one year of full time acceptable clinical experience.
Certification :
MLT(ASCP) or MLT (AMT)
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure quality specimens for Laboratory testing by recognizing pre-analytical factors that adversely affect patient results.
- To help achieve our mission, you will communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships.
- Demonstrating a knowledge of operational / regulatory standards is expected.
- Operating systems / methodologies in order to produce timely and accurate data for patients, quality control and proficiency testing is of vital importance.
- Your ability to participate in professional growth opportunities to enhance personal, team and departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory standards is required.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
