General Summary :

Under general supervision, the Provider Navigator serves as the initial point of contact for childcare providers to connect them to resources and services, and support their success and sustainability within the community. The Provider Navigator ensures providers have access to the quality resources.

This full-time position offers a hybrid work environment that includes in-office, remote, and community-based responsibilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Within a team environment, the Provider Navigator will perform the following responsibilities :

Provider Assessments 30%

  • Conduct intake assessments with providers seeking assistance to determine their business needs and identify available services and programs.
  • Conduct provider needs assessments to identify areas of need for the provider and the families they provide services to.

Documentation & Data Collection : 30%

  • Create a new provider records using monthly data reports from Child Care Licensing (CCL); contact providers to gather complete and accurate data for entry.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of intakes, assessments, referrals, follow-ups, and outcomes in the database.
  • Provider Support & Service Referral 30%

  • Provide ongoing follow-up and support to ensure successful access to services . Maintain ongoing relationships with them for continuity of care and support.
  • Connect and refer providers to appropriate internal and external resources, including services related to clothing, food, housing, health care, mental health, and community-based resources; identify key points of contact for effective referrals.
  • Educate providers on CCRC programs and distribute appropriate educational materials to newly licensed providers entered in the database.
  • Reporting & Integrity 10%

  • Submit monthly written reports, retrieve data collection reports, and complete other administrative forms as needed.
  • Job Specifications

    Minimum Required

  • Education :
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or a related field; or any combination of education and experience which would enable the candidate to successfully perform the functions of the positions.

  • Experience :
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience working with children and families, including direct experience supporting children ages birth to five.

  • Technical Requirements :
  • Must have strong knowledge of general office procedures and demonstrate excellent organizational and computer skills specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Highly skilled at data entry with accuracy and efficiency
  • Bilingual Required : n / a
  • Travel : This position requires approximately 10% of travel, which will consist of travel to community events, trainings, conferences, and various agency locations as needed. Staff may choose any mode of transportation (driving, walking, bicycling, carpooling, etc.) to arrive to and depart from the location where attendance is required. Should a staff member choose to drive, the staff member must become an approved driver with CCRC prior to driving on behalf of CCRC. Approved drivers driving on behalf of CCRC may choose to drive a CCRC vehicle or own vehicle and must meet requirements to be an approved driver including holding and maintaining current auto insurance, current California Driver's License and receiving DMV clearance.
  • Work Schedule : Ability to work a regular, fulltime schedule. Overtime may be required as needed.
  • Work Environment : Ability to work in a team-oriented, general office environment. This full-time position offers a hybrid work environment that includes in-office, remote and community based responsibilities.
  • Background & Health Clearance Requirements :
  • Background check required. As a grant-funded Agency supporting Children and Family Services, CCRC conducts background checks commensurate with the role to verify candidate qualifications (criminal history, employment history / experience, education, reference checks) and ensure grant compliance. Specific roles may have additional verification / clearance to the standard background check as part of the recruitment and selection process, including :

  • Live Scan Clearance / DOJ Fingerprinting : For positions working directly with the public in a child / community care or child / community care adjacent setting (CA Health and Safety Code Section 1596.871 and / or Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.90).
  • Health Clearance : For positions working directly with the public in a child / community care or child / community care adjacent setting or working with "at risk" populations, CA Code of Regulations Title 22,
  • 101216, CA Health and Safety Code 1596.7995, and / or Head Start Program Performance Standards 1302.93)
  • MVR / DMV clearance in accordance with CCRC's liability insurance provisions : For positions where driving is required.
  • Child Development Permit : For positions working in an educational capacity (California Education Code Sections 44242.5, 44340, and 44341)
  • CPR / Pediatric CPR certification : For certain identified positions working directly with the public in a child / community care or child / community care adjacent setting (CA Health & Safety Code 1596.865 - 1596.866)
  • Federal Debarment Checks : For positions acting in a principal capacity to federal funds (Head Start Program Performance Standards 1304.11, Code of Federal Regulations Title 2 Grants and Agreements 2.180.320 and 2.180.995)

  • Education : Bachelor's Degree
  • Bilingual preferred . Ability to converse, write and / or translate in English and Spanish in order to convey program information in the native language of the family
