Position Summary :
We are seeking a Director of Rehabilitation to provide overall management of the rehabilitation departments. The Director of Rehabilitaion will support, mentor and effectively supervise the rehabilitation team to ensure high quality care for our residents that is delivered in a competent, compassionate and caring way.

Primary Responsibilities :
Checks regularly with nursing and admissions departments of possible new admissions to ensure timely evaluationsMonitors patient screening practices in accordance with clinical policy and procedures. Performs screens and informs rehabilitation staff of patient statusTracks MDS Assessment Period Data to include : number of disciplines treating, treatment days per week, and daily treatment time. Communicates data to appropriate facility personnelReviews resident specific PDPM category per assessment period and / or coordinates change in MDS according to facility proceduresEnsures compliance with data entry for PPS resource utilization, CPT coding, and labor daily. Monitors all treatment minutes daily.Monitors manual and / or computerized tracking and billing systems and implements changes as necessaryMonitors patient and staff schedules to ensure efficient and effective departmental operationsConducts rehabilitative department meetings as needed to include : patient care review, schedule and coverage issues, and department issuesConducts discipline specific orientation of all new staffGenerates special reports / data as needed to assist the facility management in assessing the operations of the therapy departmentManages a caseload in accordance with established standardsProvides in-service education to the members of the residents care team and education to the community as neededAssumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education, and professional development as required by state practice acts for the maintenance of licensureAssumes responsibility for maintaining all required professional credentials and / or licensureQualifications :
Bachelor of Arts, Science Degree, or Masters Degree in an allied health field with one year of experience, or an Associate Degree in an allied health field with a minimum of three years experienceCurrent state licensureAbility to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and / or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, equipment and / or residents.Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend or crouch regularlyMust be able to use hands to manipulate tools, equipment, or controlsMust be able to reach with hands and arms, balance, lift and perform medium to maximum transfer assists with residentsMust have visual and hearing acuity sufficient enough to assess resident safety and ability membersApply today and become part of our Chelsea Jewish Lifecare team at the Leonard Florence Center for Living!

The salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position.
