Job Description

Job Summary :

Under limited supervision, assignment planning, layout, set-up, operating and making tool adjustments on various types of manual and conventional. machines. Works from drawings, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks which may include cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. Tasks and assignments tend to be complex and non-routine. This position requires competencies including molding, tooling, quality and technical leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Reviews and verifies dimensions and tolerances in drawings to determine best setup and work operation sequences.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may provide technical leadership to lower-level machinists including carrying out lead responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations and laws and the organization's policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to training employees, planning, assigning, directing work and resolving technically related work problems.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Education and / or Experience : High school diploma, general education degree (GED) and formal vocational training. Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of machine shop experience. Ability to use shop mathematics, drawings and measuring tools.
