Intelligence Unit Position

The Wake County Sheriff's Office employs approximately 1,000 of the county's 4,400 employees. With over 850 square miles of area and 1 million residents, Wake County Deputies are the primary law enforcement agency for unincorporated areas of the county and provide court security and civil process service countywide. The Intelligence Unit operates within the Homeland Security and Special Operations Division, providing real-time crime analysis, intelligence sharing, and operational support to all divisions and external partners.

Preferred Education and Experience
Highly preferred - Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, or related fieldBachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Homeland Security, or a related fieldExperience managing an intelligence or real-time crime center within a law enforcement agencyAdvanced knowledge of intelligence databases, CAD / RMS systems, and analytical software (e.g., i2 Analyst Notebook, ArcGIS, or Power BI)Experience coordinating with federal task forces or fusion centersFive years of progressively responsible experience in criminal intelligence, law enforcement operations, or crime analysisTwo years of supervisory or project management experience within a law enforcement or public safety environmentHold or be able to obtain within three months of employment a DCI certification, and maintain certification throughout employmentTraining in 28 CFR Part 23 and applicable intelligence systems and dissemination policiesQualifications
Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams in high-pressure environmentsAdvanced understanding of intelligence-led policing, threat assessment, and tactical intelligence operationsStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to brief command staff and partner agencies effectivelyStrategic thinker with the ability to manage complex projects and drive innovation in technology and analysisCommitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and public serviceLocation : WCOB Raleigh, NC 27602
