A Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic is a skilled professional responsible for supervising and performing maintenance, repair, and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles and select armored vehicles that serve critical roles in the Army. The role involves inspecting, servicing, maintaining, repairing, replacing, adjusting, and testing wheeled vehicles, material handling equipment systems, subsystems, and components, as well as automotive electrical systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
A U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident : A valid Green Card is required.
Age : Candidates must be between 17 to 34 years old.
Education : A High School Diploma or GED is necessary.
Tattoo Guidelines : Candidates must meet specific tattoo guidelines.
No Major Law Violations : Candidates should have no major law violations.
No Medical Concerns : Candidates should not have any medical concerns.
Testing & Certifications :
Nationally Recognized Certifications : 124 certifications are available.
Basic Training : Ten weeks of training are provided.
Advanced Individual Training : Fourteen weeks of training are offered.
ASVAB Score : A minimum score of 92 in Mechanical Maintenance (MM) is required. Alternatively, candidates may require a score of 87 in MM or 85 in General Technical (GT).
