The Field Supervisor holds a pivotal position, responsible for overseeing the flawless execution of designated projects within the Structured Cable Team. Integral to this role is the effective management & mentorship of subordinate team members, ensuring their alignment with project goals, company standards and client expectations. Success in this position is driven by a steadfast dedication to meeting project objectives, facilitating timely and accurate reporting, actively engaging in project activities, and upholding a standard of exceptional customer service.

This role will be specifically focused as a Field Supervisor dedicated to a large manufacturing client.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

1. Safety Compliance :

a. Adhere rigorously to all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a secure work environment for all team members.

b. Conduct regular safety audits and provide training to ensure compliance with safety protocols.

c. Review, distribute and track compliance with Company Toolbox Topics

2. Customer and Stakeholder Communication :

a. Act as a primary point of contact with customers, engineering firms, electrical / general contractors, and management groups to facilitate seamless communication and project coordination.

b. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.

3. Blueprint and Diagram Review :

a. Thoroughly review and annotate blueprints and diagrams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project requirements starting with Pre-Project reviews through to Red-Line / As-Built documents

b. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to address any discrepancies or ambiguities in project documentation.

4. Labor and Equipment Specification :

a. Analyze project needs to determine the necessary labor and equipment, providing detailed specifications to the project team for procurement and allocation.

5. Material Procurement :

a. Collaborate with the Project Manager / Project Coordinator to request and procure materials essential to project execution, ensuring accurate tracking and storage in appropriate locations for just in time inventory management

6. Project Coordination :

a. Efficiently coordinate and manage all labor assigned or associated with the project through close collaboration with the Project Manager.

b. Foster a cooperative and motivated team environment to enhance productivity and project success.

7. Record Keeping :

a. Maintain accurate records and timely documentation related to project progress, expenses, change orders, and other critical project data.

b. Develop efficient record-keeping systems to ensure easy retrieval and utilization of project information.

8. Change Order Communication :

a. Communicate effectively with customers regarding pending change orders, obtaining necessary approvals through established channels and processes.

9. Performance Management :

a. Assist in conducting performance evaluations for technicians, documenting achievements and areas for improvement to guide further training and development efforts.

10. Equipment and Inventory Management :

a. Oversee the proper storage and maintenance of equipment, tools, and parts, ensuring accurate tracking of usage and availability.

b. Implement inventory management best practices to optimize resource allocation and reduce costs.

11. Service Ticket Verification :

a. Scrutinize service tickets for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that all essential information is captured for proper documentation and billing purposes.

12. Customer Relationship Management :

a. Foster strong relationships with existing customers by maintaining regular communication, understanding their evolving needs, and ensuring their satisfaction with project outcomes.

13. Job Site Review :

a. Conduct on-site reviews with customers to define the project scope, clarify expectations, and align project goals with customer requirements.

14. Material and Manpower Planning :

a. Develop comprehensive material lists and manpower requirements, providing critical insights to the Project Manager for efficient planning and execution.

15. Timesheet Management :

a. Review and approve all timesheets for assigned labor on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and completeness before submission for payroll processing.

16. Technician Training Support :

a. Actively contribute to technician training programs, offering expertise and support to enhance their skills and knowledge in cable technology.

17. Warehouse Operations Assistance :

a. Provide assistance in warehouse operations to ensure smooth inventory management and timely availability of materials for projects.

18. Estimation Support :

a. Collaborate with the estimation team to review customer specifications and provide valuable inputs to develop accurate and competitive project proposals.

19. Compliance with General Contractor Protocols :

a. Guide and assist technicians in adhering to procedures and protocols mandated by general contractors to ensure project compliance and successful outcomes.

20. Additional Duties :

a. Remain flexible and responsive to the dynamic project environment by undertaking additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager or Division Manager to support overall project success.

Requirements :

Project Management Skills :

Multitasking and Prioritization :

Possess a minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience specifically in structured cabling field installation services and / or Technology Low Voltage Systems.

Customer Service Skills :

Beneficial Skills & Experience :

Industry Certifications :

Possession of relevant industry certifications, such as CommScope, BICSI, Corning, Leviton, Panduit, Genetec, Avigilon, or equivalent, illustrating a deep understanding and expertise in specific technologies, products, or methodologies within the structured cable industry.
