Job Description

Job Title : Physical Therapist

Certifications : Continuing Education courses preferred

Must-Have :

Hold license as a Physical Therapist in the state of employment.

Maintain and update PT skills and certifications as necessary.

Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs.

Utilize Electronic Medical Record to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries.

Guide and monitor patient care in all treatment and follow-up aspects.

Supervise PT Assistants and Aides regarding patient care.

Communicate with physicians and other personnel to ensure quality patient care.

Responsible for accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up.

Ensure patient comfort and address questions when necessary.

Work collaboratively with front office staff regarding scheduling and follow-up.

Possess necessary computer skills for job requirements.

Make independent decisions regarding patient care.

Participate in the business marketing and referral process if necessary.

Adhere to HIPAA policy and procedure.

Familiarize with billing policy and procedures for various insurance types.

Proficient in diagnosis and ICD-10 coding for billing services.

Physically mobile, with the ability to lift 50 pounds and assist with patient mobility.

Continually alert for patient safety.

Description :

This position implements patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength.

This role works in an outpatient / rehabilitation setting.

Expected to protect patient information in accordance with privacy policies and federal and state law.

May access and share protected health information only as necessary to complete job duties.

Expected to actively participate in privacy training and communicate policy information to coworkers and patients.

Comply with OSHA, federal, and state regulations.

Physical demands include walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving throughout working hours.

Position involves lifting objects over 50 pounds, pushing wheelchairs, and transporting and supporting patients.
