Summary : AAR is looking for licensed Apprentices (Airframe and Powerplant) for an exciting opportunity. Selected candidates will rotate through 4 different skills (Interiors, Sheetmetal, Mechanic and Avionics) every 4-6 months. Candidates will also receive GEN FAM training, GMM and on-the-job experience. The goal of this apprenticeship is a future position as a QC Inspector.
Responsibilities
- Only perform those duties for which you have been properly trained.
- Maintain personal tools in a condition that will not compromise the product.
- Replace simple items such as batteries, filters and similar accessories using basic mechanic hand tools.
- Remove / install inspection plates, cowling, engine covers, floor boards, and related items.
- Act as technician helper for 2-person tasks.
- Clean aircraft interior and exterior.
- Perform basic aircraft interior maintenance work such as hydro lock changes, window shades, cabin trim, carpet changes, and lamp replacement (reading, galley, lavatory, ceiling, and cove lights).
- Lube tasks (gear, wing, and tail lubes).
- General utility work including staging and servicing hydraulic / oil carts, swapping nitrogen bottles.
- Equipment round-up for maintenance tasks (e.g., tire carts, jacks, dollies, nitrogen bottles for tire / brake changes).
- Complete all paperwork in accordance with procedures outlined in the QCM and RSM.
- Maintain the work area in a clean and safe manner.
- All other duties as assigned.

Education and / or Experience : High School diploma or equivalent required. Some maintenance experience (including relative experience outside of Aviation).
Physical Demands
During the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
