Job Summary

The Billing Rep. working in the Commercial Billing Unit is responsible for reviewing, correcting, and completing billings for third-party Commercial payers, and completing billing and collections for Institutional Accounts, for the purpose of obtaining timely and accurate reimbursement for UCSF Health and Community Hospitals.

Utilizes multiple databases and applications to analyze and take appropriate action on information or documents received to ensure maximum claim acceptance with various third-party payers. Applications and Databases utilized consist of : Cirius, Revenue Cycle Pro (CPT / ICD-10 codes), APEX, Implant Imaging Database, Simplisend Portal, Jopari Portal.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The hourly range for this position is $31.22-$44.69 (Hourly Rate). Required Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in a hospital billing office performing billing functions utilizing EPIC software.
• High school graduate or GED certificate.
• Knowledge of ICD, CPT4, HCPCS, DRG codes
• Knowledge of insurance billing requirements electronic billing process, and UB04 claim form
• Good analytical and organizational skills, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer operation and navigation, keyboard functions, fax machines, copy machines
• Knowledge of the mandated HIPAA regulations for security, PHI and confidentiality are essential requirements for this position.
• The ability to work in Emeryville onsite when required.
