Mechanical Designer

Job Title : Mechanical Designer Location : Coraopolis, PA Type : Direct Hire Compensation : $75000 annually Contractor Work Model : On-site Mechanical Designer Objective Create detailed design drawings and technical specifications for mechanical / electrical equipment using engineering sketches, specifications, and project data to establish design factors including size, shape, and component arrangement. Work encompasses foundations, steel structures, refractories, piping systems, and ductwork. Responsibilities Execute basic and complex layouts from specified information Produce as-built drawings upon project completion Conduct detailed dimensional and bill of material verification for all drawings Work with multiple disciplines to develop layouts and detail drawings Support job leaders in determining optimal methods to fulfill project requirements Provide assistance to other project disciplines during project execution Perform comprehensive interference and constructability reviews Develop 3D models and detail drawings using Autodesk Inventor Generate bill of materials Requirements Associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology (Mechanical design background preferred) with 3-5 years experience, -OR- equivalent combination of education and experience Advanced AutoCAD and Inventor 3D knowledge Capability to function in multi-disciplinary design teams Comprehensive understanding of mechanical and structural drafting disciplines General knowledge of fabrication, purchasing, and field installation / construction #M-1 Ref : #282-Eng Pgh
