Assistant Director Of Security
The Assistant Director of Security assists the Director of Security in the management of a team responsible for the security and safety measures throughout the Resort. They will assist in the strategic oversight of every aspect of the Resort's physical security and safety for guests, residents, and employees. The ideal candidate must have the knowledge and experience to step in as Director due to the seasonal job scope of the offsite Ski Chalet or when the Director of Security is out of the office.
Assist the Director of Security in overseeing the daily operations of the security department, to ensure the protection of guests, patrons, and associates; their property, hotel property, building and grounds.
Hire, lead, train, and manage the security team, ensuring effective performance and adherence to hotel security policies and procedures.
Recent experience with payroll, scheduling, and office administrative duties.
Honor the guest, employee, and hotel confidentiality policy. Act as a liaison with all law enforcement agencies, city and federal agencies, and hotel associations.
Enforce hotel rules, regulations, and policies as well as our department's rules, policies, and standards.
Assist in highly sensitive and confidential investigations into employee and guest conduct including gathering evidence and interviewing employees.
Co-Chair the hotel's Lead with Care committee, lead monthly Lead with Care committee meetings, and lead departmental and property inspections to increase employee safety and reduce workers compensation injury frequency.
Lead the workers compensation program ensuring employee injuries are reported and managed throughout the duration of the injury. Maintaining constant communication with the people and culture team and insurance adjusters throughout the duration of all workers compensation claims.
Patrol building; noting and correcting safety, security, and fire hazards. Monitor and assess the security of hotel access points, parking areas, and public spaces.
Manage the surveillance systems and review footage to investigate and report incidents.
Respond professionally to any and every hotel emergency safety situation such as fire alarms, medical incidents, or security breaches, ensuring quick resolution and safety.
Document guest and employee incidents by writing comprehensive incident reports, conducting thorough investigations, and communicating with the Director of Security and other senior leadership.
Assist with follow-up on investigations. Liaison to other departments and People & Culture.
Assist in promoting safety awareness and enforcement throughout the Hotel to reduce accidents and loss by implementing preventive safety and security programs, providing training as required.
Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless operations, especially during large events or high-risk situations.
Develop the emergency response team, evacuation plans, and response plans with the property crisis team.
Provide First Aid and CPR. Maintain certification for CPR and First Aid given by the hotel.
Contain and transport items potentially contaminated in accordance with Blood Borne Pathogen protocols and training.
Provide basic security services, key control, guest and function room lock problems / reprogramming, guestroom safe malfunctions, and lock out.
Project an image of friendliness, professionalism, and willingness to provide personalized services to all building occupants, workers, and neighbors, whether over the phone or in person.
Five+ years of employment in a related management position with Four Seasons or other hotel / resort; certifications required. Knowledge of OSHA, Local, State (CO) and Federal laws.
Bachelor's degree in security management, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred.
Proven track record of leading security teams in high volume guest centric environments.
In-depth knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with security systems, surveillance tools, and incident reporting software.
Ability to work under pressure and make quick, effective decisions in crisis situations.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests.
Fluency in English is required for this location, and this job requires applicants to have current work authorization in the United States. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Must be able to stand / walk for up to eight hours per shift and lift up to 50lbs.
Salary : $90 - $95k annually
