Exhibitions Graphic Designer - High Museum of Art
The High Museum of Art is a division of the Woodruff Arts Center, which manages the employment application process. Woodruff Arts Center employees play an integral role in creating and supporting great art and education initiatives at the nation's third largest arts center. Comprised of three Art Partners—Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and High Museum of Art—there's a role for everyone at The Woodruff.

Responsibilities
ABOUT THE ROLE : Under the direction of the Head of Exhibition Design, the Exhibitions Graphic Designer will lead in the design and production of all exhibition graphics, including but not limited to large-scale environmental graphics, object labels, and visitor interactives.
SALARY : $60,000.00
What you will do
Conceptualize Design for Exhibitions (25%)
- Iterate and present graphic design concepts for graphic identity of exhibitions, including clear hierarchies of information
- Accept feedback during the design phase
- Design research
Edit Graphic Within Production Deadline (40%)
Work within a production schedule to return edits under deadlineWork on projects with overlapping timelinesMaintain organized files, including version histories and naming conventionsRoutinely Produce Graphics for Museum's Permanent Collection (15%)
Responsible for updating individual museum labels and panels within the permanent collection when neededFollow museum style guides and maintain consistency in formatPhysical Production (20%)
Responsible for overseeing contract graphics installers onsite, communicating the job specifics, and quality control of the final productScheduling graphic installation in coordination with the overall production scheduleJoin the Graphics Technician to physically install some wall vinyl letters and produce and install graphic labels where neededWhat will we expect of you
3-5 years of professional experience with the application of environmental graphics including, but not limited to : cut vinyl, scotch print, and print to substrate techniquesMust be well-organized, detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple projects, and highly respectful of deadlinesExpert knowledge in typography and typesetting, familiar with proofreader's marksExpert knowledge in Mac Platform : Adobe CS Master Collection (complete suite), Microsoft OfficeProfessionalism and punctualitySketchup, Vectorworks and other CAD software is a plus, but not a requirementEducation and Experience
Must have experience in large-scale environmental or architectural graphic design for print and outdoor signage; exhibition graphics installation experience preferred3-5 years of experience at a museum, agency, studio, or in-house design department is requiredUndergraduate degree in graphic design is requiredLanguage Skills
