Medical Assistant

The CSI Companies is actively seeking a Medical Assistant for a well-known healthcare provider, one of the Southeast most comprehensive academic health centers, located in Jacksonville, FL area. This is a contract to hire position! Candidates must be graduates of an accredited MA program and have an active MA certification along.

Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8am-4 : 30pm Pay : $17-$19 / hr based on experience Location : Downtown Jacksonville, FL, 32209 Job Responsibilities

• Perform aseptic procedures
• Take patients' vital signs
• Prepare patients for provider's care
• Perform venipunctures and administers routine non-controlled medications
• Correctly document all entries in the medical record, either electronic or hard copy, to include signature, date and time
• Perform all assigned electronic medical record functions, to include responding to and handling EMR tasks, as directed
• Administer hospital approved medication as directed by and under the direct supervision of licensed physician
• Observe and report patients, signs or symptoms
• Use computer systems such as electronic medical records, medical necessity, ancillary test results, etc
• Administer basic first aid
• Assist with patient examinations or treatments
• Operate office medical equipment
• Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the physician
• Perform basic laboratory procedures
• Perform office procedures including all general administrative duties required by the physician

Must be able to stand and / or walk for up to 8 hours a day. Potential exposure to hazardous material.
