Orthopedic Surgery position - North FL - near Gainesville and Valdosta, GA!!
Hospital Employed Setting
Would be only full-time Orthopedic Surgeon on staff at the hospital.
Call Coverage : arranged from Orthopedic Surgeon(s) next door. No more than 15 days per month.
Office space : Medical Office Building on hospital campus.
Per the community needs assessment for the Medical Center, there will be a need of 3 Orthopedic surgeons in the combined Service Areas of the hospital by next year.
The needs analysis also shows 4 orthopedic surgeons needed in the area. In addition to the population growth and projected increase of orthopedic discharges in the service areas recent analysis show an outmigration of a combined total of over 500 surgeries (IP & OP) annually being redirected to the surrounding Gainesville, Jacksonville, Tallahassee areas.
Hospital proposes employment of an orthopedic surgeon that will be shared with hospital.
Reason for search : Supply and Demand Data shows shortage, market share growth (combined cities have approximately 14% Orthopedic market share in the CSA), and loss of cases,
Hospital only performs day surgery. MD Anesethesia available Monday-Friday. One OR, one scope room, 4 PACU beds. Other Medical Cneter has one C-section room in addition to Four ORs and a bronch / endo room.
County has a population of 50,000 and city is in the heart of the Suwannee River Valley. Low unemployment, low crime, good schools, outdoor activities abroad.
Active live music scene with major music festivals throughout the year. City is closed to major cities (Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville).
